Beaches
Dishoek is a small and peaceful holiday location in the middle of a particularly dunes landscape. This small coastal town is famous for its beautiful south beach where cabanas are rented so you have the possibility to stay over on the beach. The big ships sail along the coast, a unique experience. A small but beautiful stretch of dunes and natural forests forms the natural scenery. The beach of Dishoek is also known especially, just like the rest of Walcheren, for its distinctive groynes and of course the quiet atmosphere. Furthermore, the province of Zeeland has the most sun hours in the Netherlands during the summer. An excellent start for a lovely beach holiday.
The beaches of Dishoek have won already several major awards. In 2011, the beach received (each year without interruption since 1995) the 'International Blue Flag environmental award' again. It guarantees high quality of bathing water and a well kept clean beach. In 2004 and 2003 the town won the title of 'Cleanest beach of the Netherlands’.
